I want to turn on shift light but i cant access the settings menu. I have followed UncleSteves instructions that are pinned. I have also followed the instructions in the manual. No luck. Any ideas?

I googled GenII shift light problem and it pointed me to UncleSteve's post. I'm no help at all...
press SEL ( small button on left under gear indicator ) and turn ignition on andhold for more than 2 seconds. press ADJ button to change lighting mode - light, blink, off, light.

Got it guys. Thanks foresure84, you have to have engine kill switch turned on too. I had it off.

Yes, key on with kill switch off wont do it.
