Hi Guys, wondering if anyone has ever run across this issue? Gear indicator works normal in all gears except for 6th. When shifting through the gears display shows all gears normal except when going from 5th to 6th, indicator stays at 5. Ohm checked gps and all readings normal, has 15k ohms when transmission is in 6th gear but gauge still shows 5. 2009 gen2 busa. ????

Did it just start?
There is a gear position sensor behind the clutch.

I just purchased this bike, my thoughts were the gear position switch behind the clutch but it ohms out correct when it's in 6th gear at 15k ohms so I don't think it's that. Tried another ecu with the same results.

Which gen bike? My gen2 started acting like that at fairly low miles and I replaced the GPS. When I went to order the replacement, I noticed it was a new/superseding part number.

Do you know if the bike can go faster than 186mph?
A stock Gen2 can go to 197mph derestricted(perfect conditions).
Most everyone deresticts bikes now through ecu flashing, but in the early Gen2 days, there was an aftermarket gear position sensor that tricked the ecu into thinking the bike was in 5th gear, when kt was really in 6th, and it read 5th gear on the display in 6th, so be aware of that when you check it.

Gear position sensor, can get crazy when you’re in a corner hard. The maps change from gear to gear.
