hey guys- going to north georgia this weekend from florida--any problems getting gas in south georgia or atlanta area or north georgia-thanks in advance

Problem big time in the Metro Atlanta area. The problem is many gas stations are not restricting the amount you can get. Whenever someone see a gas station with fuel, they head over and fill up or top off. Said the problem will be cleared up in 2 weeks. Right now demand is 10x what the supply is.

yes, the gas situation is bad, but you can find fuel, just fill up before you get out of florida. I just got home from the fall bash and i made it with no problems.

hte problem is in peoples heads, making it a problem.

one person tells there buddy that there will be NO GAS FOR A WEEK- he sends out an email, and before you know it, everyone anytime there is gas, is at the pump. ive gotten numerous calls and texts saying "FILL UP, NO GAS FOR A WEEK"

im jsut south of atlanta, and quiktrip is the only station that has gas every few days, most bp,chevron, texaco, shell. is out and hasnt had gas for days. BECAUSE-they order gas for a said number of days, when people panic and fill up when they dont need to, that ration is gone.

really hurts the stores as not many ppl will go into a stor to buy products unless they are buying gas.

this happened in the 70's, people get down to half a tank and go fill up, so most everyone in town had a full tank of fuel, I worked at a gas station then, we got the same amount of fuel before during and after the gas shortage, so we would calculate how many gallons we could sell each day to stay open everyday without running out of our fuel alotment, if people wouldnt top off every tank there would be plenty of fuel, when the so called gas shortage was over we were open all day everyday with the same amount of fuel purchased each month

There is gas in North Georgia, but som of the counties up here are completely out. Chatsworth, GA, (Murray County), Ellijay, GA (Gilmer County) are completely out of fuel.

Dalton, GA (Whitfield County) has fuel but mostly the 87 octane.

A trip through this part of Georgia is do-able, but most gas stations do not have premium fuel. And about 2/3 of the gas stations have no fuel. Good luck and keep the rubber side down.

Why is this just Georgia???? Can't trucks haul in gas from another state or something? It's not like there's no gas anywhere!
