With regards to the security pin in the center of the hex screw: A couple of years ago the ignition switch in my daughters old Jeep went bad. I bought a new one and went to change it on a Sunday, and found the security screws holding the switch in. Wanting to finish the job that day, I found that two easy taps with a pin punch knocked the pins out, which allowed me to use a standard hex key, and job was done in less time than even thinking about finding the proper wrench. Bottom line is do the best you can, but don't obsess and go overboard. A real thief will defeat everything you have. A few seconds of thought on my part defeated the special screws and I am not a thief.
