Friend of mine who owns a GSXR1000 sent me an email the other day...

-----------------------------------------------------------

Went for a boot to Squamish last night.

Turned around after gassing up and caught up to a group of three riders stuck behind some traffic.

Road opened up into a passing lane and they graciously let me lead.

Opened it up through the first sweeping right-hander, 170+ km/h (106mph)

Fast guy of the three tries to hang with me, but hasn't fully warmed up his D208 rear.

He looses the rear, gets twisted up and hits the inside gully of the turn.

From my rearview, I see his bike emerge from the bushes speed wobbling into the oncoming lane.

I thought he was now going off the other side of the road into the rocks but he managed to hold on and complete the turn.

When we pulled over, he had a wheelbarrow full of grass and brush sticking to his bike but virtually no damage to either himself nor the bike.

Went back to the scene.  Measured with a GPS that he traveled 63m (206.69 ft) though the bushes and gully.  (Not including the black skid marks and gravel going in and getting spat back out).

Lucky bastard!
