Frame Sliders

After hearing about lots of crashes resently I've been thinking of getting sliders. Then seeing BulletTrains post on his attactive carbon siders had me about to open my wallet. Before I jumped I did some more reseach and found some people who had questionable experiences with different sliders including aluminum and the nice carbon wrapped ones. Links below. The bottom line was that the normal, boring hard plastic or Delrin ones seem to have the most universal approval. The lit ones seem to fit the approved category.

I doubt the carbon wrapped ones are really carbon they are probably plastic and the aluminum end caps, aluminum which is soft, should provide lots of friction.

What do you guys think, I like the carbon sliders.

dood, the guy said the carbon with aluminum ends transferred the shock to his frrame resulting in damage to the frame and all they did was slide. so you may get more damage to your bike if you have metal sliders than if you dont have any at all, they can break your engine mounts off, thats why the "nylon" sliders are the best, they will actually bend around the bolt before they break the mount points, plus they act as a break to slow you bike down if it slides on them....no brainer'
