I did the first oil change on the K8 this week. The fairing was a little challenging but pretty easy still. Anyways, on the base of the filter thread I noticed some orange gritty stuff. I rubbed my finger around the thread really good to see just how much I could collect on my finger. Not much, but what the hell is it and should I be concerned?

Also, my "sport grips" arrived today at the Atlanta BMW dealer and I just received the USPS tracking # for my helibars!

Same here it but it looked like sealant to me, like I've seen out of tubes of orange/dark red RTV. Could be wrong.
