to get to, Do I need to remove the airbox to adjust the fast idle screw?  With the lever turned all the way down it only chokes to 1500 rpm.  I want it at 2000.

Any tips?

I don't want to take it to destroyerships because all they do is damage my baby even more with scratches/stripped nuts and even torn grips! #### them!

No, you don't need to take the airbox off, just raise the tank.

I sympathize with the comments about the stealerships, I do all the work on my bike.

Remove the 2 bolts that hold on the front seat....then the 2 at the front of the tank. Once you get the tank propped up move the fast idle lever back and forth to see which screw that you need to adjust
