Can anyone tell me what the typical price to install a set of rods would be on a busa. I plan on having a 1397 kit put in and I ran across a great deal on a set of Carrillo rods that I'd like to have put in as well.

Not sure on the price, but if you're into wrenching on your own, it's not too bad...

I had my engine apart earlier this year. Had the head and cylinders off - the rods are right there...

Figure on new base and head gaskets - probably $100 in gaskets. The rest is just elbow grease...

Unless you plan on having over 300 horse I would save my money.

Anyone bother with balancing? Unless the big bore pistons and new rods weight exactly the same a the stock rods&pistions, the rotating assembly should get balanced.

Well I also plan on doing a direct port nitrous kit as well and I don't want to run into rod failure.
