I spent 10 min on their website, and there is something I don't like about this product. I just can't put my finger on it. Since I do my tires myself, I will stick with wheel weights.

You can't reuse the beads, they can get spilled easily, can get into something easily, the valve core needs to be replaced, the initial time may be comparable to balancing time, not sure how they behave in different conditions. I will let others test them for a year or two, and let's see what they say. I don't want to find out that if you hit a couple of bumps at 150, the balance goes off for a few seconds, or something like that. I've never had to rebalance a motorcycle tire because it became unbalanced.

I am curious if racers or LSR folks are using or tried those.

Bottom line, don't fix it if it ain't broken.

i tired them once and didn't have great success. I actually removed the tire and took them out and balanced the old fashion way. Others seem to like them

Can you be more specific?

Off topic, you've got great roads where you live. Love roads in Putnam and Dutchess county. It's just a way from Long Island.

Interesting. Not for me though. I don't like the idea that the tire is out of balance when stopped and then corrects it's self after a few turns. I remember a few years ago MC Dealers trying to sell me a liquid balancer and punture prohibitor like slime. Didn't buy it then either.???

I've been running them for 1800 miles with no problems. I can't tell any difference at slower speeds compared to wheel weights but over 70 it is alot smoother. They say the tires last long, I'll have to see about that one. I been mounting my own tire for years so this saved me a trip to the local m/c shop for balancing.

used to love em (still do i guess)but when I went to the 300 out back I had them not balance it and they got a lil bead lube in the tire and them beads stuck to it and had a nasty hop to it. had to break it back down and ended up balancing it. still got em up front though.

I have used them in my o8 for two years now, And no problems. When i take the tires off there is no sign of wear on the inside of the tire. I live in the bay area, But cruise 70-90 at times and smooth as hell. A few times up to 140 -50 and still smooth. I am on the Avon Sports touring 130,200. With 1 1/2 oz rear, 1/2 in front. I am getting ready for tires on my titan, And the beads will go in those to. There are so many weights on these tires its ridicules.

In the interests of full disclosure: I'm a suspicious person.

Facts: Is there a single independent laboratory test that has showed beads work?

The company has made money selling beads for decades. However, if I was selling them, and they actually worked, I'd feature the independent tests on the website and in all ads and literature. Wouldn't you?

Anecdotal positive claims: Tens of thousands of people swore on their mothers' graves that Brown Gas increased gals mileage, power etc. although there was no study that ever found a benefit that outweighed the cost. Just sayin.

If there's any scientific proof beads work, we'd all love to see it.

I have them in my Pirelli Angels. I have about 6-7k miles on them right now and they work just fine. They are reuseable (just have to collect them). I will kick it up to 130-140 every once in a while and the wheels stay balanced.

used them in the rear and not on the front as a live comparison...

so far they have worked great.... and they ARE reusable... just have to take ten extra seconds when changing a tire to get them out...

my front tire (which is ready to be changed) is actually out of balance now.... rear tire, still smooth as can be...

Put the rear on a balancing machine (the electronc wheel balancer that spins up the tire) and she balanced perfect...

I can relate. However, in this case, just the very fact that they're still in business would seem to indicate that the product is what it claims to be. In addition, the physics of the solution make PERFECT sense in terms of centripetal/centrifugal force. Add to that the fact that virtually rider that has ever used them and posted has had nothing negative to say and usually lots of positive, well...seems the case is pretty solid that it's a good product.

That said, does they even do any particular "tests" for regular wheel weights? About the only testing that I'm aware of is using a wheel balancing system at time of install for wheel weight. After that, the only test is if the rider notices an issue or not with vibration or tire wear.

I will throw a twist on beads and weights. I use the nomar tire changer and don't I repeat don't ever balance my wheels. 10000 on fronts and 5-6000 on rears all the time. Must get good tires  Never notice any vibes low or high speed. Illinois has alot of 180 mph roads. Lucky I guess. 1 rear only got 2600 miles damn throttle:whistle:

Today I talked to a local motorcycle shop owner/mechanic he is also an all level instructor for a race academy. He told me to stay away from beads unless u have to. He said lots of Harley owners use the because of how many weights they would have to use to balance the tire(that is the short version).

He also went on to tell me he has seen the damage they can cause after time. The said they are cheaper to use, but if they were all they claim to be dont you think the dealers(Honda/Suzuki) and racers would use them? He suggest to stick with weights, and leave the beads for the slow bikes. At 150+ do you want to take a chance?

I think I will stick with what the pros use.... Weights...
The shops web site is www.motorider.com
Instructor at motovid.com if you want schedule and some $ off let me know and I will post the info. I will be taking less ions this year..
