Someone here should post the phone number and name of a good shop in Charlotte so the guy can have a reputable tuner fix it. Also, he can strip the NOS stuff off of it. Also, the rings should be fine. They can take a lot of abuse UNLESS the original build was messed up. I would not look at the rings at all. I'd say get it properly tuned for STREET use and then the guy can ride and enjoy the bike for years..........
