do low and high beams come on?

simple question but my bike is not near me so i cant check, do both the low and high beam bulbs come on when you hit the high beam switch on a Gen I Hayabusa?

Low beam comes on when the bike is turned on, and will remain on with the high beam when the switch is on.

And what exactly in my wiring harness could get fried if I run 55w?
