counter sprocket cover removal

You obviously got the cover, side stand switch, shift rod lever, and the speed sensor off....you've also removed the speed sensor allen in the middle, yes

....next would be the nut and washer that hold the countershaft sprocket in place...got that off

?.....Hmmmmm...nothing else holding it on except the tapered splines that are "on" the countershaft........and "they" might cinch the sprocket in place, but nothing else there Brother...tap the sprocket gently with a small ball-peen hammer, it wants to come off, I can feel it...

Now tap it again after spraying it with WD-40, and then tap it again.....you should be able to just pull that sucker right off....

Whoops...the sprocket "C-O-V-E-R".....ohhhh, I get it...

...only thing holding it on, if everything from the "previous" post is off, and all (4) 8mm bolts are out, is the tension of the two (2) sleeves and the rubber on the bottom post of the cover...hit it with a rubber mallet on as many corners as you can...a little persuasion...and it will come, and get that area GOOD and CLEAN !!!
