I ABSOLUTELY hate to start a thread where I can't give out a bunch of details. I feel that when people tease like that it is a waste. With that said I am a juror on a trial and can not speak even ONE word about the trial. We are all hoping for it to conclude at the end of this coming week and at that point I can share what I been listening to in disbelief.

The trial is really taking it's toll on me mentally and emotionally. It is stomach turning and heart breaking. I have been easily in tears this past week and have not been able to get it out of my mind. The decision at hand is a very difficult one and will probably haunt me for a long time.

Not to mention those that know me know that I work for an evil little troll who is making my life miserable for being away from work for jury duty.

I could just use some thoughts and prayers. Again, I am sorry that I can not share more. I don't want to be all passive agressive, but I was sworn in and the judge reminds us at least six times a day about discussing the case.

Oh this stinks for you! I know your boss has been a thorn in your side and now this. You are an honest and sweet person, so I know this decision that will affect someones life isn't taken lightly with you.

I know you can't say anything, but you know how to find me if you need to vent!

Wow. So sorry you are going through all this. Jury duty is definitly no light matter. Does your boss have a boss? I would be talking with that person as soon as I get back. You should not be harrassed because you are on Jury duty. Maybe talk to whoever is in charge of jury duty at the court house too. Get the state involved and your boss will shut up real quick. That little weazle!!! Hang in there girl!!

You have to make the decision that is right regardless of emotion. Remember, you are not the one that put anyone into any position regardless of how bad it is, you are merely there to see to it that justice is served. I don't have a clue what the trial is about. If it is a criminal trial and you believe the person is guilty of the charges, remember they put themselves in the situation with the choices they made. If the prosecution doesn't prove their case then you have a duty to call it that way as well.

If this takes a toll on you emotionally make sure and find someone to speak with about it when it is all over. If you need someone to vent to when it's all over feel free to pm me, I've been through a couple tough trials and know all about the ups and downs that can come with them. The last homicide trial I was involved in I was instrumental in putting a 21 year old away for 45 years. I sleep well because I know justice was served. I know that person is locked up today not because of a choice I made but instead because of a choice they made.

I wish I could say something wise, but I dont have it right now. You boss needs to back the he-- up! You are in my thoughts though.

Sorry to here this Kristin. Like CTA said when this is done be sure to talk to someone, that is VERY important. PTSD does not happen just because of combat. Having been an EMt/ Firefighter for some years, I have seen things and done things that have bothered even haunted me. Every time we had a stressful incident we would have meetings and couneling. Do not keep it inside or try to fight through it by yourself.
You did not make the choices that led to this trial having to be held. And like others said do not let emotions sway the outcome. You are only doing your civic duty, You should not have to suffer with grief or nightmares because of it. IT IS VERY important to talk about it, with your husband, a profesional, clergy or who ever you FEEL COMFORTABLE with.
Again sorry to hear of this. You are in my prayers ma'am. PM me if you want to talk or vent. I have big shoulders. DO not keep it in.
Wish you the best and look forward to hearing from you when it is over.

I can not say that I have been in your shoes, because thankfully I haven't. I can say that the little "troll" can take a flying leap!, because you have no choice but to sit on the jury. So tell him to...well I can't say that on here!! As far as the case....you HAVE to do what you think is morally correct. Don't second guess yourself or you will be really feeling guilty over your decision. Stick to your guns and have faith that whatever decision is made will be the right one. That is all you can do. Believe in yourself! You will feel better about it in the end!

Take care, and "try" to stop stressing,
Brian

Now THIS I can relate to as I suffer from PTSD. It is a nightmare, and trust me when I say that talking to someone whether they are proffessionals or just friends will help! You didn't make this trial happen, you are just doing what you have to do! If you need someone to talk to, please hit me up, because like I said , I have suffered from PTSD for many years, and it stinks!

I hope everything works out the way it should. Also, prayers sent your way! Talk to someone if you need to.

You have to make your decision based on the facts, it's not your fault, don't do the crime if you can't do the time. As for your boss, does he know it's against the law to harass you because you were chosen to serve jury duty, go to the proper authorities he'll back off real quick. Good for you for doing your civic duty.:cheerleader:

I'm sorry to hear that you have to suffer through all of this - the trial, your boss - I know how hard it must be. These things will pass. The trial will end, your work situation will be resolved. But for now, unfortunately for you, these things are in your life, and life can be very hard at times. I hope you feel relief from this suffering very soon.

Kristin hope the trial ends soon. Remember to document every time your boss says something - record it if possible. That could come in handy in the future.

Kristin I'm sorry your having to deal with a horrible boss while being on a jury that is causing you so much stress. I hope that "Troll" gets whats coming to him one day! Hang tough kiddo! ((hugs))

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Hang in there.

Be there like you for many years. It is a pain to deal with etc.! Stay strong and hang in there! I share that same boat !

You got a lot of support here if you are willing to use it. Call me or the wife. I will PM you her number... My phone is OOC for a bit.

Anything you need. Just to talk, yell, scream or even someone to jump out of a closet and punch a troll in the face.

Just ask.

CTA is right, you are there because somebody else potentially screwed up. Call it like it is that's why it's called an "impartial jury". If someone comitted a crime, then the repercussions are on them not you.

I too had the great displeasure(because of the case) of jury duty. It was a child molestation and pornography trial. The things I saw and listened to haunted me for weeks. The 3rd night I got home and curled up next to my wife and cried like a baby for an hour. Just remember that someone has to make the people that do these horrible things pay a price. My thoughts are with you. Be strong and lean on the ones close to you.
