The Busa is a great bike and I love my 2023 Gen III but the Busa will be heavier and less nimble than your S1R so something to consider before pulling the trigger on a new Busa. The upside to the Busa is it will pull way harder than the BMW, feel more planted and more aftermarket support so you can mod the Busa to your hearts content. Both are nice bikes so you can't go wrong with either bike.

The Busa in the long run will be much more reliable and cheaper to maintain. Ridden everything from 600s, 1000s & finally went & got my GEN 3 thinking i would sell it if i dont like it. Let me tell you, No regrets here. She is a keeper. I'm 175cm 75KG with a lumbar disc issue. This has to be the most comfiest bike i have ever owned.

Never got off one ride with a back ache.

Good Monday morning . I run a Hayabusa support group where we father infant owners into caring for their new Suzuki.
Just follow me for links to needed titanium , carbon fiber , and other needed accessories. ;)

With the right add we can sell that BMW to some snooty young man with to much daddy $$$ then the wife will just have to accept a replacement machine.

I'm c10 , and approve this message lmao !

Well I have done gone done it. Fully expecting it to be less nimble than the BMW but expect to be doing some bigger miles on boring roads and an unfaired bike just won't hack it. Away on a work trip at the moment, pick it up the day I get back in a couple of weeks, as long as Donald hasn't started WW3 by then.

Ok, guess we can close this thread now. Had the last ride on my S1000 this morning out to the dealers where my blue and white 2026 was waiting for me. A nice 25 degrees C today so came home the long way. So smooth is my first impression. Got home, put it in the garage, sat and looked at it for a bit while I tried to work out all the modes and stuff. Put the seat cowl on, instructions for which are ridiculous. Laughed at the size of the ‘large’ tank bag that I got as part of the deal.

Had still not told the wife when she came up the drive.

“Look what I did”
“It looks big?”
“Yeah, the engine is bigger than my first car” (MK2 Cortina 1300 Deluxe seeing as you ask)
“How big is it?”
“1.3 litres”
“Is that sensible?”

No answer to that really is there?

Now I just need the orange one to pull his head in so the price of petrol can start coming back down so I don’t feel guilty just going for a fang.

I always thought the Hayabusa was a cool bike.

Never bought one. The same two single purpose.

Then three popped up for a price I could not refuse. At least that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it ha ha ha

Now that I own it it’s my favorite Motorcycle of all time and I’ve owned many many motorcycles

Well, my 02 cents. Most of the sport bikes out there haul it. Now, what level of crispiness on your leg would you like? BMW1000RR will roast well done. The Panagalli v4 is roasted and burnt with plenty of acrylamide (black crusty stuff when you burn food) even with a leather suit on. Now, the Gen3 Busa is only slightly warm, rides like a cruiser, has real cruise control, has kinda notchy up-down clutchless shifting, is pretty, gets 44mpg, and there is NO bike out there that will smoke it in the 1/4 mile or 1 mile. I didn't say it can't be beaten in a race, just within easy and close eye reach. If you forget the power it has and accidentally gun it and don't hold tight for any reason, you have the HUMP, as I call it, to catch you so you won't slide off the bike on the crete and look like a total rookie!! The price on the busa is the most reasonable price out there. The bike is literally bulletproof like the old Toyotas.

I have a 2022 BMW S1000R. Love the way it looks but to be honest not really loving the bike and I cannot put my finger on why that is.
The Busa isn't for everyone, it's 65 kg heavier than what you're on now and a completely different animal. A true sport tourer, designed for long runs across country not quick blips up through the mountains. It takes a bit of upper body strength to toss it around in traffic too. Good luck with it, it might suit you, it suits many of us. Just make sure you do the sidestand mod before it falls over on you. I was in a dealership 6 months back and there was a new one on the floor, I called the young salesman over and said "Watch this" then pushed it gently forward and he freaked out when he saw the sidestand start to fold back :D

??? I have the S1000RR and there is no heat from the pipe on your leg. The V4 painintheass has it because of the way the pipes come out of the rear cylinders.

Not from the pipe, from the engine. My 2017 roasted my leg.

lol, then you weren't going fast enough. But I know what you mean, the engine gets hotter than most, nice in Winter. I have the 17, I couldn't hear the engine until I took the akra shorty pipe it came with off, then I was alarmed by the noise it made. I took it to a dealer and he listened to it for a bit and said, "Hmmm, you have one of the quietest I've heard." It's no Honda.

I love my Busa but they aren't exactly smoking too many modern open class bikes in 100% stock form lately, especially the Gen 3 :beerchug:
