I have never had a problem with a clip style master link, I also do not "reuse" them either
I clean the sideplate with acetone and put a dab of silicone, Not sure if It helps

Looks like crap with that goop all over it.Everybody I know with dirt bikes use a clip on master link,but I wouldn't on a Busa,would hate to throw a chain when me and Red are doin' a 180 mph+ down the 15 Freeway.
