As I said, my brtoher in-law has lived down in that area for the last 6 years and there was no doubt in his mind what he told me. it wasnt "I think the local's are doing this" it was "The local's ARE doing this to try and scare off the motorcycles.

My comment was the people should get hammered, and the reply was the police cant do anything unless they actually see them do it.

So what ever we do, we all need to be carefull. as for me.. I will be taking it easy

I will be there!  Yes, the cops have been out and have been nasty on Palomar.  The rest of the ride should be open though!  Devil dog,  I don't know you, but am interested in riding up together.  Any busa rider is a friend of mine.  I go up and down miramar road everyday, haven't seen you!  I'll keep a better look out!

yah .. I talked to a ..bud in Poway.. he said the Locals r "knowin" for use'n oil n sand.. come to think of it the last time he was there..he " wiped out" <--- ( sand ).. so its up to whom's leading this " Foray" .

Sounds to me that Palomar is not a very friendly place. the police do not seem to want us there. the locals seem to want to try and kill us.

So.... with that. I would say, if we hit Palomar, total cruising. I have never been on the road myself so honestly I will probably prefer to be in the back of the pack anyway.

Be prepared however, if I happen to see anyone dumping sand, pouring oil or doing anything that looks like they are purposely trying to kill a motorcyclist. It might not be pretty.

Does anyone have any other ideas of nice "SAFE" roads in the Temecula area?

I will go Palomar if that is what everyone wants to do, just kind of getting an uneasy feeling about it.

I've always liked Hwy 79, but I like Palomar, too. 79 has a LOT more traffic on it, usually and lots of side roads.

I think you're going to get some pros and cons on either road, unfortunately.

Just take it easy

and you're gonna be fine, I think.

I think we will be fine at Palomar.....we just need to be cautious. I ride the roads for the joy of riding.....If I wanted to kneedrag, there are tracks for that.

We will be fine. Palomar is a mostly first gear road anyhow, none of the turns are anything close to high speed.

Don't worry Ron, if we see anyone doing that, you will have help hiding the body!

I am voting for Angeles Crest on Saturday. And then Palomar on Sunday.

Ok, Can we have Charles coordinate the rides meeting places on Saturday and Sunday?

Anytime is good on Saturday. Since Julie is clearing out the guest room I will stay with you guys Friday of that is ok. Probably be in around 6:00pm or so Friday night. I need to have you email me directions or an address or something. Or I can just ride on Rich's coat tails

Sunday. Devil Dog does not get off watch until 0800. figure at best case scenario the earliest he can probably hit the road is 0900, and then from Miramar to Temecula I think is about 45 minutes?

So maybe a 10:00am meeting in Temecula on sunday and head out for Palomar?

I just found out that I will be relieved from duty Sunday morning at 0700.......If all goes well I can be on the road by 0725......

. I can hopefully be to Palomar by 0830-0900.

Meet the SD guys and any LA guys who didn't hook up at Dietricks at the Pechanga Gas Station just SE of Temecula at 9AM.

Directions to Pechanga Gas Station;
Take Hwy79 exit off of the 15(its in Temecula) and turn East, then turn right on Pechanga Pkwy and the gas station will be 1-2 miles on the right side. If you find yourself in the woods, turn around you've gone to far
