as for new tires, now i have a dilemna...

I was planning on replacing my current ones during the winter... But NOW if I'm thinking of waiting till i get down to Deals gap... Hate to waste tread on 1.5k highway miles.

Places are starting to fill up fast for next summer at Deals. I know as more and more groups plan their trips and find out the May and June are full at popular places, their events will be scheduled for earlier. We need to go ahead and nail down a place so we can get reservations made. It seems that most were happy with the CROT. I just believe there are better places to stay but none as convient. I would really love to have some input, especially since this will be my 1st time there with hayabusa.org.

Deals Gap Resort worked out good last year.Some of the rooms were kinda small. If theres another place around there that we can cook outside and have a fire at night. Would be OK with me. There will be two of us from Iowa for sure.

I called the Phillips Motel today to check rates for April. The three BR cottages are still $125-$150/night. Rooms at the motel are $35 for a single to $45 for a double/night.

There normally is a fire at the front of the hotel. As for a place for all of us to get together and cook, that would have to be done at one of the cottages. Info on the Phillips can be found here.

The Resort is closed for the season. I am pretty sure they will be close to last year, around $50/night. Nothing beats the location of the Resort, plus we can cook right outside our rooms.

The best value is The Treetops and/or The Ridge, $480/tax for the whole weekend. With only 5 committed, it would make no sense to reserve there. But on the flip side of that coin, with 5 people at $90 for 2 nights each comes in at $450.....

I know there will be some wifes/girlfriends there. My wife is still undecided on attending or not. That could be a factor in people wanting their own rooms.

Maybe another poll is in order?

Any other places you guys would want to stay?

well I'd vote the 15-17th

Well shoot. I was in until the 15th-17th was decided. I work every other weekend and that just happens to be my work weekend. I don't know if I'll have enough vacation time since I've already put in for Labor Day weekend for the Cycleforums annual gathering in PA.
