took it real easy on her for the first 600 miles. got the first service done drove 20 miles to the interstate and gave that bit#% the spankin shes been begging for. man alive does this thing accelerate hard. 170 give or take came with absolute ease. of course this was me

Break it in like ur gonna ride it never baby it.. just bought mine and riding the **** out of it.. just my .02

i now have 485 miles on it .. enjoy... Zay
 
A good reason to not "drop your baby on it's head" is that over 6000 rpm your oil bypasses the filter. I wonder where all those nice flecks of metal are going when you break it in like your going to ride it.
 
generally the higher oil pressure at high RPM's will close the bypass valve to ensure adaquate oil supply under high load, its a general rule of thumb for most 4-cycle engines.
 
I thought the break-in was 600 miles up to 6000rpm, 600-1000 miles up to 8000rpm, then over 1000 miles let r rip.
