Best way to remove and replace fairing decals?

I’m considering changing all my fairing stickers to a different color scheme on my 2022.
What’s the best way to remove the stickers without damaging anything?
I’ve heard about using WD-40 and letting it soak in for 15 minutes before peeling with a plastic razor.

What’s the best way to apply the new ones so they are straight and bubble-free?

Removal is best with a heat gun on a low setting and then followed up with mineral spirits to get any adhesive off.

Putting the new ones on is an art...one I've yet to master.....I can put smaller decals on and use You Tube videos as a tutorial as how to do it.

I'd advise doing this-watching a few You Tube tutorials....

I was never good at arts and crafts so putting on the new ones and getting them straight won’t be easy for me.
I may have to go to a window tinting shop or auto body shop and just have them do it

Maybe there’s a technique to mark the placement of the existing stickers before removal so I can just line up the new ones and call it a day.

Heat gun and goof off to remove the decal. But before removing the decal I used painters tape and sharpie to mark the corners where the decals are at. To install them, I used window tint application solution on the fairing and that allowed me to place the decal where I wanted. Once it was in the correct place, I used a squeegee with the felt/fabric edge to get all of the solution out and let it dry for a while. It’s important to be patient and take it slow.

Set it out in the sun for 30 minutes or longer then the decals should come right off, clean off any glue residue with mineral spirits and then wipe the area with alcohol. Use dawn dish soap and water to apply the new decals and squeegee out. If the decal doesn’t slide then you need more soap. Good luck.

Be careful with a heat gun if you’re not used to using one. Direct sun is best for amateurs.

This doesn't work with decals but works great with raised emblems....

I de-badged my pick up with dental floss....

I have also used fishing line.

I’ve had to reposition my GoPro mount a few times on my windscreen and the fishing line doesn’t damage the windscreen.

I appreciate the warning about the heat gun. I have one but use it sparingly.

I'm fortunate as the one I have has adjustable heat settings....the owner's manual even tells which heat setting to use in removing adhesive decals...

And how to manipulate the gun in doing so to avoid paint damage....

Yes, I have installed quite a few of them wet over the years, it works great.

Yep I use to install door decals on our company trucks, we used mechanics hand soap and water without measuring the mixture, we just soaked a rag with water and squeezed a little soap on the rag and wiped the area with the rag and put the decal on, the soapy water allows you to slide the decal where ever you want it. Give it a wipe with a squeegee or credit card and done.

Now don’t get me wrong, if I’m putting a decal on one of my motorcycles or something I want done perfect I’m going to take my time and measure the mixture but I was just trying to explain how easy the process is.
