Rev, Great topic. (Sorry RSD)

I've been meaning to write a book with all the usefull tips I have come across. Might call it "Afro-Engineering for Caucasians".

Here a couple.

-Use a length of velcro to wrap around you throttle and front brake. Voila, an instant emergency brake. That way there is no way the bike can roll forward off of the kickstand (like when some idiot leans on the rear of the bike.)

-When a big rig is riding you ass in heavy traffic, there is hope. Just slow down gradually to about 10mph, then return to previous speed. Repeat as needed. Figure, it's a ##### to shift back through 14 gears. They might need additional reminders, but it shouldn't take long for them to get your message (or run you over
smile.gif
).

That it for now, as I don't want to give all my secrets away, LOL.

Some really good stuff folks, that pet hair and the Beer drinking should be really helpful.

Filtering Vodka??? Might have to try that.

Thanks for the tips folks... This is just the kind of simple stuff that can save $$$ and hassle...

OK, Air Travel... If you need a ride to the Airport simply swing by the Nearest Hilton, Ramada etc that offers shuttle service. Enter through a side door and then head straight to the front with your luggage like you own the place and ask when the shuttle leaves. Free ride to the Airport.
thumbs-up.gif

OK picking up friends? Airports SUCK, so have your friends head to the shuttle service area for Hilton, Holiday Inn, Ramada, Etc.. and meet them at that Hotel instead. Generally speaking tip the driver well as you get on the bus and there won't be any questions at the other end. Works like a charm and you can avoid driving around Airports...

A sealed envelope - Put in the freezer for a few hours, then slide a knife under the flap. The envelope can then be sealed.

============================================
Use Empty toilet paper roll to store appliance cords. It keeps them neat and you can write on the roll what appliance it belongs to.

==============================================
For icy door steps in freezing temperatures: get warm water
and put Dawn dishwashing liquid in it. Pour it all over the steps. They won't refreeze.

==============================================
To remove old wax from a glass candle holder, put it in the
freezer for a few hours. Then take the candle holder out and
turn it upside down. The  wax will fall out.

==============================================

Crayon marks on walls? This worked wonderfully! A damp rag, dipped in baking soda. Comes off with little effort (elbow grease that is!).

==============================================
Permanent marker on appliances/counter tops (like store
receipt BLUE!) rubbing alcohol on paper towel.

==============================================
Whenever I purchase a box of S..O.S Pads, I immediately
take a  pair of scissors and cut each pad into halves. After
years of having to throw away rusted and unused and smelly pads, I finally decided that this would be much more economical. And now a box of S..O.S pads last me indefinitely! In fact, I have noticed that the scissors get
sharpened this way! (Once you use the S.O.S. pad - freeze
it in a container.  When you need it again, run it under hot
water, and when you finish - back into the
freezer, until you finally have no more suds. You will never
deal with a rusty pad again)

==============================================
Blood stains on clothes? Not to worry! Just pour a little
hydrogen peroxide on a cloth and proceed to wipe off
every drop of blood.  Works every time!

==============================================
Use vertical strokes when washing windows outside and horizontal for inside indows. This way you can tell
which side has the streaks.. Straight vinegar will get outside windows really clean. Don't wash windows on a sunny day. They will dry too quickly and will probably streak.

==============================================
Spray a bit of perfume on the light bulb in any room to
create a lovely light scent in each room when the light is turned on.

==============================================
Place fabric softener sheets in dresser drawers and your
clothes will smell freshly washed for weeks to come.  You
can also do this with towels and linens.

=============================================
Candles will last a lot longer if placed in the freezer for at
least 3 hours prior to burning.

==============================================
To clean artificial flowers, pour some salt into a paper bag
and add the flowers. Shake vigorously as the salt will
absorb all the dust and dirt and leave your artificial flowers
looking like new! Works like a charm!

==============================================
To easily remove burnt on food from your skillet, simply add a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom of pan, and bring to a boil on stovetop.

==============================================
Spray your TUPPERWARE with nonstick cooking spray before pouring in tomato based sauces and there won't be any stains.

=============================================
Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.

==============================================
When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to help
bring out the corn's natural sweetness.

==============================================
Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.

==============================================
Don't throw out all that leftover wine: Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.

==============================================
To get rid of itch from mosquito bites, try applying soap on
the area and you will experience instant relief.

==============================================
Ants, ants, ants everywhere .... Well, they are said to never
cross a chalk line. So get your chalk out and draw a line on
the floor or wherever ants tend to march. See for yourself.

==============================================
Use air-freshener to clean mirrors. It does a good job and
better still, leaves a lovely smell to the shine.

==============================================
When you get a splinter, reach for the scotch tape before
resorting to tweezers or a needle. Simply put the scotch
tape over the splinter, then pull it off. Scotch tape removes
most splinters painlessly and easily.

==============================================
Now look what you can do with Alka Seltzer.

Clean a toilet.

Drop in two Alka Seltzer tablets, wait twenty
minutes, brush and flush. The citric acid and effervescent
action clean vitreous China.

==============================================
Clean a vase.

To remove a stain from the bottom of a glass vase or cruet, fill with water and drop in two Alka Seltzer tablets.

==============================================
Polish jewelry.

Drop two Alka Seltzer tablets into a glass of
water and immerse the jewelry for two minutes.

==============================================
Clean a thermos bottle.

Fill the bottle with water, drop in four Alka Seltzer tablets,
and let soak for an hour (or longer, if necessary).

==============================================
Unclog a drain.

Clear the sink drain by dropping three Alka Seltzer tablets
down the drain followed by a cup of Heinz White vinegar.
Wait a few minutes, then run the hot water.

Hope this helps....

Nice Pack man, a whole stack of good stuff.

OK want to remove all the tarnish off your silver? Heat up a pan of warm water and add about half to a quarter cup of baking soda to it. Then set a piece of aluminum foil in the bottom of a glass cassarole dish or whatever. Set your tarnished items on the foils and pour in the water/baking soda mix. (NOT TOO HOT)

The tarnish will be gone almost instantly. Now to keep it from tarnishing use a decent wax to protect the silver.

Frozen Grapes!

OK, a Simple <span style='color:orangered'>Food Tip</span>. Something that I thought everyone knew.

Go out tonight and buy yourself a good bunch of <span style='color:orangered'>seedless grapes, red or white. Wash em' up, stick em in Ziplock bags, and then drop em' in the freezer.</span> After they have frozen grab em and chow down on one of the sweetest, easiest deserts ever.

Kids think they are really getting a special treat and they do come out awesome. The sugars in the grapes wont allow them to freeze solid, so what you really get is Grape Slush in essence and it's very good...

Phatjoe, Wago and Smily...

No worries...glad I could help.

And no...I'm not going to write a book. My carpal tunnel is bad enough as it is.

Another tip? For thefishermen here: to remove the line from your spool (only spinning reels, not the heavy duty cable stuff) simply cut the line, turn on your vacuum, and in a little bit, voila! empty spool!

Rev and Pac .. you need to get out more ..
