For a cruiser, maybe. When you haulin azz at 170 with a tight tuck, the stock wind screen is perfect, otherwise at CRUISING speed, stock is also fine as there is almost no wind on me in a mild tuck. Of course, this is my own personal preference. Those tall and wide screens are going to cause buffeting. Our bikes are bullets, and a tall, wide screen will cause me problems. Man, I love this bike best busa yet. Yeee haaaawwww men, jam the throttle and redline it!!!!

Groran1000 makes a good point.
You CAN take a Busa on a long distance trip but if touring is what you want to do there are much better bikes for that purpose, with big wide windshields that offer good wind protection.

Well I'm riding in the city AND the highway near 50/50.
DOn't wanna go with those tall "touring" screens of course, just would like to reduce weind/noice that's coming into my helmet.
Also in the summer time it's pretty hot in here (up to 38 C sometimes) so I'd love to keep my OEM screen for those days, especially when I'm in traffic but to some longer trips it would be very nice to have kinda taller one.
I'm going to make a 3000km journey this month to my homeland so...

I just put the WRS screen on my bike. Didn't slip in as easily as I expected but then neither did the original when I tried it to see if there was a problem. When I did finally get it in and screwed down I noticed that at the front it is not a very flush fit to the bodywork, it is like 5mm short. Photos will explain. The original screen was a perfect match to the fairing so wondering if this is an issue with the WRS screen or an issue with the user?

'scuse the bugs.

Aesthetically speaking, the OEM windscreen is the best. The shape continues the contours of the nose fairing. I like the Zero Gravity I have on my Gen2 but it's just too smooth. It's perfectly smooth and the nose fairing has a ridge to each side that doesn't match up. I'll be doing it again on my Gen2 but I think I'll try a can of Nightshades or some vinyl on the OEM windscreen. As for color, dark smoke looks pretty much black from a distance. If you already use a smoked face shield, you still can see through a dark smoke windscreen a little on a sunny day. If you're going fast enough to look through the windscreen, you want better visibility. I recently bought a Zero Gravity smoked (not dark smoke) windscreen for my ZX-14 and it seems just right. It's dark but it's not so dark it will look black. I think I'm going to be able to see through it with a smoked face shield. It matches the tint of the smoked indicators and tail light I bought well. The new 14R is brightly colored and the ordinary smoked color works just fine for that bike. Dark smoke is for when you want it to look black but you can see through it a little if you need to. Appearance-wise, Dark smoke works for a black bike

As for the taller windscreens, I can't comment. I own a Puige double bubble but never used it. Regarding a taller windscreen, it throws the front out of balance with the tail in my opinion. We already have a large front that looks aerodynamic. Those high windscreens don't look right for what kind of bike it is. ...of course, it's not always about looks and performance, sometimes it's about utility. There was an actual shell made for the ZX-14 years back. It was like a little car windshield with a roof and a rear window. That's about as far as it goes for comfort. I'd like to try one but probably just choose to drive a car instead.

Did a 400km trip yesterday with the WRS at the top of the page. No issues with the gap but it pisses me off when I look at it. Tried the original again and it fitted perfectly so not sure what the issue is.

Still getting the wind on to my helmet but much higher up so a) less buffeting on a long trip and b) it's missing my neck so not so draughty on a cold day.
