Battery options/suggestions

I got stranded the other night about 30 miles from home, battery went on welfare (decided it didn't want to work). I have had problems with hot starts ever since I've owned the bike, it's an 06 with 6500 miles on it now. Cold starts the battery would work fine, after riding and getting it hot, it just didn't want to crank over until it cooled off a bit. Finally it decided it wouldn't even start after cooling off.

Yes I have charged it, it still had same results on a fresh, slow charged battery. I also do my best to maintain 4500-5000 rpm when riding to ensure the system is charging.

I was curious how many have had this problem and what if any other options are out there on batteries that have more cold crank amps to them. I'm going to be replacing the battery and want to make sure I cure this problem when I do so if at all possible.
 
Try replacing the battery with a new one, not just a freshly charged one. If problem still persists it could be that your starter is drawing too many amps. This problem will be more prevalent when parts are hot. This will require replacing the starter. If you take the starter off, some auto parts stores will test it for free.
 
Wow I was just going post similer thread.Mine is d.o.a went 4 ride 2day had push start it.
Im thinkin batterys+ IM LAID OFF SO $$ tight.Least I didnt find out @ track saturday going into eliminations.I think I can charge between rounds + get it 2 start.However thats risky.Was doing ok till hot weather kicked in will start when cooled off not when hot.
I have had it on 1 amp charger over a hour still not right.Better go unplug before I grenade the thing.:sadlike::huh: is stock 12 bs ??? I can get a 12 BS FOR $56 bucks from a battery outlet here.

3 year old battery ?? WHAT OTHER GENTELMAN SAID REPLACE IT.lOT OF PLACES WILL GIVE YOU A GUARENTEE. If you try start it+ir backfires a little dont try anymore with that battery.Can tear stuff up if it back kicks.

mine had a YTZ12S in it. In checking the dealer wants $90 for one, battery outlet can get me one for $62 but they just sold their last one right before I called (or so they said) and won't have any until next Friday. I really don't want to go through holiday weekend without a busa.

It's definitely getting replaced, I was just curious if there are any options out there with more power to them.

Hmm 12bs thats what my old gpz1100 had might not be right.Guess I CAN STOP BEING LAZY+ go remove mine.
Anybody know # for stock busa battery?

They just told be replacement is 12A.B.S. $69.95

THEY LOOKED IT UP

Sucks cant turn headlight off thats not makin it any easyer on us weak battery guys
