Battery dies after a couple of days

You should have NO continuity to ground from any of the 3 yellow wires.

You should have continuity from one yellow wire to the other. Shop manual should give you the proper ohm range. If you're getting an open reading between any two yellow leads your stator is shot.

.2 -.4 ohms lead to lead ( coil resistance ) and 65 Volts lead to lead at 5K RPMs cold.

Ok, the guys who were trying to test my stator are dumbasses.. I got readings coming from it.. Lots of volts.. 6K around 75-80 Volts.. so its all good there.. regulator is gone.. ordered one from www.rmstator.com

$109 USD for it. SHould have it by friday.

hey guys, installed new rectifier.. no difference.. battery only showing 12.5 volts are 5500rpm.

help please

Problem fixed! Pulled stator out of its assembly. the 3 lead wires were exposed on the stator grounding out. So i spliced and rebuilt the wires. Good as new. BTW bike is an 01 with 11,000 miles. Wonder why they broke down so bad?
