The lighting (in my opinion) is much better. Compared to the stock halogen reflector with an HID bulb the HID projector disperses light a lot “cleanerâ€, has an overall better output and is easier to see objects at night. It has a nice cut-off but I think I need to fine-tune my aim.
I decided to leave the H9 high beam in place and since the HID projector is a bi-xenon I wired it into my high beam harness so when I turn on my high beams the H9 and the HID light up BRIGHT!
One thing I don’t like is that the side cut-off is so sharp in low beam that it limits your side field of view when you’re in a curve at night so I’ll either slow down or turn on my high beams to compensate.
The ballast has an internal igniter and takes only a few seconds to come up to full power when turned on. I’ve had zero flickering, clock reset or any other HID related issues.
I have 14 strips with 162 lights; 2 on both sides lower swingarm, 2 undertail both sides, 3 on both fairings, 2 inside wheel well and 2 under the nose. I still have room on the kit to expand with up to 250 lights... rolling Christmas tree
