me an the old man used to race the little electrics before it got so damn expensive.. nice little concrete indoor track about an hour away.. got pretty good at it till the technology went out of control.

I think most have switched to nitro stuff like you guys are playing with now..

the electrics we raced were probably 40mph for 4minute races on an oval.. hehe, then time for ya new batteries for the next race.. hehe we had I bet $400 tied up in batteries just to run 3 heats and a main each.

Worst part was to get em' charged correctly to last the full 4 minutes (had to be timed out with proper gearing/weight ect to last the whole race or you were toast) they would have to be "trickle" charged as opposed to just slapped on a 15 minute charger.. The trickling took 2-3 days for each battery..

I can actually remember when you got everything right you would see a power loss at about 2:30 seconds, and it would basically die on the track generally 10-15 seconds after 4 minutes hehe

NO VICTORY LAP!!!

That is sweet!  Did you do the paint yourself?

After playing around with electric cars, stadium trucks and boats I finally picked up a nitro about 2 years ago.
Not a major hobby of mine so I went lazy this time by buying a preassembled Street Force GPR.  AWD and 2 speed transmission...till today the performance just blows me away.

First time out I took it to the highschool parking lot to break it in.  I REALLY "broke" it in.  After a few minutes of playing around the car just took off WFO.  All I could do is just yell NOOOOO as it went in a big arc across the lot and crashed into the concrete curb at 60 mph.  It just blew up in slow motion.

I didn't have the body on it yet and it landed up-side-down.  Front wheels were completely gone and one back wheel was making contact with the ground causing it to spin around in a blur like a top.  Few pieces of the front suspension ended up on the roof of the school.

It was only about 10' away from me when it quit responding.  Went back to that exact spot and found the crystal laying there!

Much to my surprise Duratrax covered everything with no arguing.  I sent them a huge list of damaged parts and within a week I had all the replacements.  They even offered to repair the car if I wanted to send it in.

Few hours of replacing parts and she was new again.  Lots of fun over the past 2 years and of course I now keep that crystal siliconed into place and installed a safety return spring on the throttle.

It still scares the hell out of me to think what can happen with these cars. 0-60 in the blink of an eye and if they go out of control, anyone in its path is going to be in for a world of hurt.  And they do attract the crowds!

Thanks, actually that body was the pre-cut painted body that came with it. I had a 350Z body But I sold it.

Oh and they make failsafes for them. i am a big believer in the failsafe. If it gets outta control and looses signal it will just lock up the brakes.

Nice...  I've been wanting a Dayum T-Maxx for awhile now, but somethin gelse keeps coming up.... Sweet Car man.
thanks rev tmaxxs' are pretty cool but for about the same price you could get a HPI savage. Way more reliable and comes with a big block motor stock.

If you really want something cool go to www.cenracing.com and look at there truck. A .46 5hp

SAWHEEET!!!! Nice rides. You build them for fun or do you race? I build totally for fun and then usually end up wrecking them. Had a Team Associate offrod Buggy, but it got trashed a while back and now sits in the garage with the other RCs that have gone on.
