ok...stupid question.......do you gain lose or maintain trunk space, i need to keep the bottle back their and was wondering, thanks as always everyone!

Daniel you're right, you do lose trunk space but gain mounting area for many components.  Putting a bottle in the rear is also easy with the hump bottle bracket kit which works great with a Tiger Tail. Click

If you are stretched you can gain loads of trunk space.... I made one for my bike and can fit damn near anything in it...
