yes, there's a lot of ways to do it. A few questions:
1) provider of cell service (verizon, sprint, etc)
2) type of phone (treo, windows based, iphone, blackberry, etc)
3) type of plan (unlimited data, pay per use, etc)
Based on that you might find there are some ways around monthly costs. I personally use a software called PDANet (June Fabrics PDA Technology Group). Cost very little and no monthly charges from the carrier. In my case I have unlimited data from Sprint, so this works very well
well you can try it, there could be something in the att network that blocks the tether or they could try to charge you but I'm pretty sure you can do it with that phone. I'm not sure if the "BLUETOOTH® wireless connectivity" listed for the phone extra covers a data connection or if you'll need a USB hookup.
The cord is a better option anyway. It can charge the phone while you surf the web. That way you save battery power for more important things, like calling someone for help if you need it.
