2012 Not going into 1st or neutral!?!? Please help!!!!

Hey guys, NEW to the forum and NEW to the site!


I just recently moved up from a 2006 GSXR600 to a 2012 Busa and after my first ride I noticed it would not go into 1st or neutral. I have took the linkage off and tried hand shifting with the same results. I have also tried rocking it back and forth to see if it would engage. Is there a "simple" fix or is the synchronizer out of line/broke????

Any suggestions or help would be great!

I would bring it to dealer.

No warranty at all. Bought it used. Called dealer and he said bring it in....big surprise! lol

So has anyone else had this problem?

My 2011 is a hassle sometimes going from neutral to first(friend's 2008 is the same way),usually just put light pressure on the shifter and ease the clutch out and will then snick right into gear.

Sounds like a shifter drum spring is broke.
You need to pull the shifter cover and inspect!

check your clutch fluid.

I've noticed some times I have to squeeze the clutch lever twice to get mine into first from neutral its like it hasnt built enough pressure with one squeeze to engage . ( Brand new bike)
