The turn signals/hazard lights are on in this picture only because I caught them between flashes too, otherwise it's just the tail light on all the time, as it should be.

The bike had a fairly new Quantum fuel pump in it when I got it, and ran excellent from idle to redline, but I boight a new Quantum pump for it a couple years ago anyway...only to.find out last night that they sent me the wrong one.
Oh well, I would be they would still swap it for the correct one.
Anyway, I'm not concerned, but I did disassemble it to check the internal filter, which was not suprisingly very clean, and just stained normally from gas.
Regardless, I had the correct new filter and put that in it.
I put the pump in the tank, and the tank on the bike.

I extended the horn wires, as the main harness is shifted some for the dirtbike bars, but I have plenty of slack everywhere.
The horn wires were just a little short, and I want to add a different horn anyway(already tried a couple that were no good).
I'll probably mount a car horn in the stock location.
The wires are soldered and heat shrunk.
Not the prettiest...but secure and functional.

I took the p.a.i.r block-offs plates off and put the 'sucker mod' back on, connecting the crankcase vent to the p.a.i.r plates.
I've seen several dyno sheets over the years claiming 2-4, and 4-6whp
I also had a friend who did this to his '06 Gsxr1000 years ago, with no problems in over 40k miles.
The airbox is blocked where the vent hose connected.
So why not.

The starter works and the fuel pump primed, but I need to put gas in it, as I don't want to prime it dry and burn the pump up.
Everything seems to work...and then I got an FI light and the dreaded C28 code...bastid!
The secondary plates are supposed to do an 90° sweep/check on start up, but these just vibrate.
It is very strange as they worked fine before, and even though I had the throttle bodie off for cleaning, I never removed the stva motor.
But, I am hoping that setting them corrects it.
They have to be set with an ohm-meter, and mine broke a while ago.
I have borrowed my Dad's the times when I needed one since...and just need to remember to buy a new one.
It got too late for my brain to start on that anyway, as these can be very tempermental, and I curse Suzuki for ever using them(all you Gen2 Busa guys have them too).
I did take the stva motor partially apart so far, and need to get it the rest of the way apart first, to inspecf all the solder for burn marks and any breaks.
The bike should run now regardless, it just won't run well until the secondaries function correctly.
So close...yay...gotta love it...

It's looking great.......even with the airbox being off......

I'm thinking about that vent sucker mod......I might look into that as well...

Thankyou sir...one step closer.
I had the sucker mod on before, swapped to the block-off plates, then read some more and decided to put it back on.
Then it randomly came up with a guy I talked to on the Gsxr forum recently who did it to his '05 Gsxr1, and he got 6whp
I am going to reroute the center hose around to the timing chain side of the engine, as it is a tight fit where it is now, and close to where the throttle linkage rotates, I just need to go get a longer piece of hose.

Would it work the same way on my Gen 2?

Routing wise that is.....

Yes
But as said I would come up from the crankcase vent, and go on the timing chain side of the valve cover, then back towards the center.
I'll post a picture of it as soon as I get some more hose.
It's a quick job and very easy to route the hose

I just have to block off the airbox vent and add the length of hose from the crank to the PAIR.....sounds simple enough....
