2000 Hayabusa Stock or Modified?

HI Everyone, bought my first hayabusa the other day, it is a 2000 that is all stock,( exhaust, ais, rear fender, reflectors.}
Body work is clean, needs a good polish, but no repainting necessary
No mods at all.
It has 43000 kms. Blue and silver
The question is ,
is a unmodified 2000 hayabusa worth more stock? than if I started customizing it?
Full exhaust., ais deleted, stretched, etc

Since it and the 99 are unrestricted and rather rare I’d say yes, it’s worth more stock than modified. Mods can however, be reversed so keeping all the OEM parts would be wise.

At this juncture pictures are mandatory as it's nice to see what we are discussing.....

If someone were collecting this bike, stock is more valuable.......however, there are many low mileage unmolested '99 and '00 bikes out there that it's up to you whether you mod it or not.....it's all in what someone will pay for it.

If it were me and I had an attachment to the bike, I'd leave it in stock form and look around for a newer Hayabusa to muck around with...

It looks to be in very good shape.....

If it were me, I'd leave it alone, they are only in that condition once....

If you are able or inclined, you could pick up an inexpensive newer model and play with that keeping this one for special day rides....

Welcome to the .org! Good looking bike, especially if it is running. Focus on those things and keep it stock.

I have a '99 model, when I bought it 10 years ago it was stock apart from exhausts, (he gave me the stock exhausts with it)
Since then I've changed things a fair bit but I can always put it back st stock trim. . . apart from the mileage.
I agree with the other comments here, it's only stock once, and you can always go get yourself a later model at a fair price to play around with I guess.

If u feel it’s a collectors item, put it to the side and look long enough til you can find a Busa dirt cheap to destroy with every mod u can think of.

Remember, it’s only actually worth what someone is willing to pay, regardless of what the book value is. That’s why Personally I’m of the mindset of this: not having fun, modding, not putting miles on your bike or car so u don’t wear it out is like not having sex with your wife so she’s got “low mileage” for the next guy. F that lol have your fun

I'd personally keep a 2000 stock, for history's sake, but I do that will all my vintage stuff. My 07 has hardly any oem on it. The buyer has to feel that way as well. I've been buying/selling pianos and other vintage music equipment so know how to find my target audience. Is holding the value of the busa worth more than building something tailored to your liking?

If I bought an older bike and it already had a full exhaust, or an undertail, I'de mod away.
But, if I found something decent, bone stock...mudflap and all...I guess that I've gotten too old, and would keep it stock.
Not for collectibility or value, but I think just for nostalgia, they only look that way once, and it just takes me back.
The late 90's and early 2000's were a golden age of motorcycling, with the speed wars, and a leap forward in acceleration and speed, stunting was still a big deal, and new and better bikes were a yearly thing.

Now that’s a thrown together bike, perfect for shenanigans. I see gen 2, gen 1, gsxr, r1, and enough aluminum extrusion to make 3 swingarms hahahaha

I would like to thank everyone for there opinion, I think i will leave it stock and keep and eye out for a gen 2 that needs help.
It is hard for me to keep the mod monkey off my back, i always want to do things up to my own taste

Since its your first Busa and it hasn't been molested I'd leave it as is and after you have a few thousand miles in the saddle then decide if you want to make any mod's.

Stock gen 1 mufflers scream 90’s racebike, bare bones round canister

Gen2/3 are all swoopy and fancy looking just bcuz. And harder to gut lol
