11 Busa problem?

Hey, has anyone heard or have problems with 5th and 6th gears? Well a friend of mine was having problems with his gears and took the bike back to Suzuki and they couldn't figure out the problem. So they had to fly in a Suzuki specialist to locate the source, so now they will have his bike for 2 months to perform a total breakdown. They said he wasn't the only guy with this problem. I'm just wondering...

News to me? What kind of problems was he having?

Two months to do a tear down? F that. I'd be doing my best to insist on another new bike. Then they can play with the other one for as long as they want.

If you mean 5th to 6th, mine does it too. It's like a false neural in between 5th and 6th.

So far no problems here. bike has only 961 miles on it though. How many mile does your friend with the trouble have?

Two months?

WTF?
Exactly! Then fly in a "specialist" ???. I would hope that any dealership that sells Suzuki Motorcycles would have at least
one competent "specialist" mechanic type guy working there. I'm not buying it. Out of thousands of units sold this is the
first I have heard or read of this issue, isolated incident at best. Tell your friend to ask for a new bike till they sort out
the issue or get his money back.

Good story.

I doubt they would have flew in a specialist and took the bike for that one. It's a well known issue for both Gens. Appaarently this is another issue. I've been extremely pleased with my '08. Close to 25K and no issues so far.

only 300 miles on my 11 no issues yet with 4-5 or 5-6 shift
my 11 is hard to get in 1st at times.
stering stem nut was loose at 200 miles, tighted my self

Have had the same issue myself when shifting 5th to 6th; adjusted the shift lever down 1 click appears to correct the problem for me. Aggresive action needed when shifting has also helped...
11 Busa 2300m so far no other major issues.
