Ok guys I am 47 and I had a Gen 1 about 15 years ago. I am now currently looking at buying a new 2026. However my wife says "you are 47 you have no business riding a Hayabusa" So I need some ammo here... Where are all my older busa riders at?? check in with your age if you don't mind... :D

Thanks

58 here. Had a handful of Gen1's and just got a Gen3 a few months ago. If you have not ridden in several years the Big Busa will let you know what muscles you haven't used in a while after your 1st 100+mile ride. So ammo for the Mrs. Your doing it for health and brain juice. They always buy the it's for my health excuse. At 47 you're still in the prime years. Good luck.

I'm 20 years older than you and bought a used Gen 3 two years ago. My wife says "at your age?!" but I paid for it myself and promised I'd always wear my Alpinestars airbag vest when I ride.
She relented and now understands I need something all my own that I can tinker with, something she has nothing to do with, and she's fine with that.
In my case however I've owned motorcycles for the last several years so she's used to having a two wheeler in the garage.

62, with a list of heath issues like a medical dictionary.

The Gen-3 is the reason a Busa is my main bike. Love the better bars, cruise control etc, I wanted to own it from new. If there was no Gen-3 I’d still be happy to own a Gen-2 or B-King but my main bike would be something different. Probably a GSX1000 tourer or a Ninja 1100 or something more upright with box’s. Neither of it’s real alternatives, the H2 SX SE or the ZX14R suit my needs. I love my B-King and Gen-2 but they are quite dated now and not 100% what I want.

A brand new bike with cruise control means it’s a Gen-3 or something quite different.

I rate my bikes with one simple question, if it’s crashed or stolen today, what do I buy tomorrow. The Gen-3 is rare for me as it’s one of the few bikes I’d buy another the same tomorrow if I didn’t have one.

I am 45 and busa is perfect for older guys, I call it old man superbike :) I even do track days with it. Dont let age to stop you from your dreams or wishes.
Busa is more demanding bike for seating position so you should be in "acceptional" shape, no knees, hips or lower back issues.

PS I bought my hayabusa from 72 old person ;)

The younger guys seem to prefer liter bikes, or even smaller and lighter. They believe the Busa is too heavy.

The older guys seem to prefer something which is more rideable with torque at lower RPM’s, more comfortable for touring, more stable at high speeds and still provides exceptional performance.

Most Busa riders are older, based on averages.

Didn't like the Busa years ago, thought they were to big looking and my K7 was faster than the gen 1's.

Rode a coworkers gen 1 for about a week. I soon realized that the busa was a better all around motorcycle for "me".

A year and a half later sold my liter bike and got a gen 2. May will be three years with my gen 3.
