Hi all, noobie here.
Just wondering what tyres others have fitted to their Gen 3 Busas.
I've owned my 2023 since March 2024, and have until now, stuck with Bridgestones S22. Found them ok, for fast back road and A and B road riding, plus a little trip down to Nurburg last May, which did of course start squaring off. But it was the Brands trackeve where I really felt let down by this tyre, the new-ish rear felt greasy, and only improved when I stuck more air in and brought them somewhere back towards road temp (28c cold), but, heavy bike etc etc..
Anyhow, 2,000 miles later and I need a new set ahead of this year's riding. Much of the same, but looking perhaps towards a sport touring tyre which is not what I've used before. I've run Metz M9RR for a few years previous - MT10, R1, GSXR1000, etc, Racetecs and Corsa/Super Corsa before that - and although fantastic rubber for my riding, I know the rear would last about 500 miles on the big beast
I'm considering Michelin Pilot Road 6, Pirelli Angel GT, Metz M9RR (poss), or Metz Sportec 02.. any views, thoughts etc?
Any other brand/model I should look at / consider?
I only do about 3-4k a year now, so if I could get to the end of 2026 with some rubber left and a big smile as I reflect on some more great memories, I'll be happy.
Cheers
