It's actually kinda frustrating. This place used to buzzzzz daily with threads and posts. And all of those here and more were active daily. Many if not most posting here are in that pic I posted.
Was that you next to Steve, at the far right?
One of the fun things I remember, is Steve and Cap going at each other in good humor!!! Best friends, but if you did not know them, you would think they were enemies. Wonder what happened to Steve?

Speaking for myself, life changed and focus changed. It was kind of easy to not log in every day after years of being so active because people from here all started side chats in other media channels, we still planned trips and rides together and that was enough. I’ve logged in or lurked over the years, and I realized I didn’t know so many. The OGs (myself included) were still active in each other’s lives, and it felt that here was a new generation of friends making memories here. It’s hard to dip back in to that with so much distance between being here every day with the usual suspects, to being an OG and only recognizing a handful.

Still didn’t keep me from missing here. There are many that really miss the old days, that one photo of so many Busas at Fontana Dam…it was definitely a genie out of the bottle period, then the genie went back in.

Amazing how our lives changed.

My Busa became more of a collectors item, parked in a hidden corner of the garage, ridden maybe once every three months for a short ride. That kept me from coming here often still just to hang out. Our priorities change and life goes on.

That was a golden period.

Also a part of the OGs, I have witnessed the changes in the forum first-hand. I remember chasing Michelle for lead in posts  while enjoying the experience of others motorcycle adventures. Like some others, this is my only social media and even though not posting as much stay logged in all the time, checking on things and stepping in where things have pushed the boundaries. The family nature has never changed. Members have always been here with a willingness to help members (new or old) with whatever was necessary. That is the crux of the forum and why I have stayed on. It has been said, but I am a member of other forums and most of them are not nearly as active.

This place is an icon for forums and leave an emptiness in me when it closes its doors, whether or not there is another door that opens.

I think the Dragon bike represented the Gen1 and the org well over the years.
I never saw the Dragon bike in person. But I did see the Coors bike in person. Fantastic work.

I remember the announcement it got stolen. I never heard if it got recovered. But if I were that bad guy, most of American knew that bike and was looking for it. It would be hard to ever put it on the road again.
