Bear with me as I am choked up a little bit at present PLEASE HAVE A LOOK

@skydivr @Skywalker @SSGT_B @Yellow09 as vets, do you guys have any contacts within such organizations? @c10 can you ask your wife if she does?
I know there are other vets here, but these are the ones who came to mind immediately.
And @dewie Im a vet and with VFW, DAV. I also still work at the Marine base here and my wife is a Vet rep for the state assisting veterans in need. She has contacts with many veteran organizations. I'll put the word out. That's a great thing you want to do. When and if it happens I say lets get the news involved. People need to see and hear good deeds like these.

As a Canadian Vet, and seeing as brother @dewie is in Canada, it might be easier to do..

If your plan is to give the bike to a wounded vet, that is one thing but if you are planning on selling it to one, that is a real challenge. Wounded Warrior is a non-profit organisation. Wounded Warriors Canada | National Mental Health Service Provider

There is a Canadian Veterans Motorcycle Club ( Veterans MC Canada ) which might put the word out as well...

On topic...thought it would be cool to share a tribute bike we have here. It was custom built and donated by a builder out of NY. Not sure if those guys are still around but its a nice build.

Yeah my landing is a lot sturdy than that video. It’s attached to the tail of the bike and mine is on the swing arm. And when it’s lifted up mine are 8” long and those are 4’ long.

And to back the bus up a bit I personally never said I’d donate the bike. I’d give them a deal like no one else, but at this point can’t do it. I would love to but maybe there’s another avenue I’m not thinking of.
Thanks.

I never thought you intended to donate it since you have it for sale, and if it sells, it sells. But, in the meantime.......what if we find a veteran who is suitable and we get a group together to chip in on it for them? We could make a trusted member the banker, and whoever is willing and able to help could contribute. What better way for the .org as a whole to say thank you?
Thoughts?

Unfortunately I do not have any living connections any longer. No one from my days is still above ground. I refuse to go to the VA so I am about as worthless as tits on a bull. I will however keep an ear out and spread the word when I can.

Your VA system is brilliant...same as our VAC system..my cousin who went to "Nam gets decent benefits from the VA system.

Some of my peers have complained about them but I remind these guys we are the only organisation which has something like this to look after us. In most professions after you retire all you have to show for it is a bad back and nobody giving a darn.

I can see why you posted this brother as it was sort of eluded to.
But we all get it,explanation on your part, not necessary.
Back to the business at hand.

Try contacting those two organisations and explain the bike is set up for you and maybe they'll know someone who is in the market for a bike such as this??

All they can say is "no thanks" but I suggest they will try and help you find a buyer.

I had this same thought Jeremy, but I'm glad you brought it up because I have been asking members for years and years to help out with one cause or another. I thought they might be sick of me by now.
The sky is the limit when you can dream.I had the idea this could be taken to a huge level. I thought of a raffle. Folks could buy tickets with a certain percentage going to the vet to help with the purchase ,the other percentage to the winning ticket holder.A chance for people to show there support for OUR vets, plus a chance at some winnings. All kinds of disclaimers could be drafted. We don't find a vet? Winner takes all...standard raffle type rules. A time limit,we couldn't have this go on forever.Just things like that. The word could spread like wild fire across Facebook and every other social media. It could end up worldwide easy. Links on all sorts of sites all leading right back here to The Org.
We would have to have Doug's blessing on that but I can't see him bothered by some extra traffic. Who win's ? I do. I love this stuff. Dewie wins,us as the Org wins...but most importantly of all,a wounded warrior wins. The extra attention this could draw to the Vets I feel could be huge.It will reach and hopefully touch lots of people, not just Busa enthusists, everybody who reads anything about our endevour.I like this kind of idea Mr.Brown...I like it alot.
Like the idea people, post up your thoughts. Don't like the idea, please flame Rubb personally by way of PM.
Thanks,Rubb.

I think the first step is to find a suitable candidate that's interested in the bike, and go from there. @dewie will you let us know if a buyer who fits the bill contacts you?
Even if we as a group can't purchase it outright for someone, perhaps we can assist with shipping or something.

One slight issue there Rubb, we have several nations represented on this forum, who's vets do we support? I'm certain people would be more interested in supporting vets of their own nations.

With the economic down turn facing us all in light of this pandemic, the timing is off I think.

...and, @dewie would be the driving force of any such venture as it is his bike and his decision as to what happens with it.

A PM to him in advance of any ideas and plans to ensure he is on board and supportive would be prudent....

Perfect as usual Mr.Brown. I can see folks having all kinds of fun with this.Bikers all over the world rally at Christmas time to help kids get some toys they so richly deserve. Everybody wins. Bikers of all types draw attention to themselves by pointing out to Joe Public that we are not all bad.Bikers like me and you, even full patch Hell's Angel's have a soft spot in their hearts for vets, children, all kinds of causes. Just normal caring folk. I can see Busa brothers and sisters organizing a little something in their locale...big or small. I would get something going right here in my little town with just 5 or 6 Busa's but with all welcome to participate.Destroy the "Biker" stereo type...draw attention to the cause at hand. Another win win. I could easily get a little police escort, maybe a couple of military vehicles from the local base. The idea's are endless. If the individual rally doesn't pay off huge, but only garners a little bit of attention, thats perfectly fine. What would a person be out? A chance to ride down main street North America and beyond having fun.A chance to be on the six O'clock news.
Work for sure, but rewarding fun at the same time.
I know I live in my own little fantasy world at times dreaming of better a place for all....you also know what my standard response would be...
But lets keep this thread clean.
Picture it thou...a ton of bikes rolling down the road with flags flying from POW/MIA,Marine,Navy,Army...all of them. Of course Busa's would lead the way...kind of like The Rangers. I can envision little kids just losing their minds seeing a dozen stretched out custom Busa's rolling by.Not just the kids either. I was at the beach the other day just looking out,got accosted by a group of "little old ladies" with all kinds of questions and offers...wink wink. I'd advertise around here. "Ever dreamt of a motorcycle ride" well 20 bucks to Wounded Warriors get you the ride of your life on the back of my Busa. I'll pick you up and drop you off back at the senior center, p/u and drop off ...anywhere for anything. Grandma could tell her friends ...thats my new boyfriend.
