So here's the deal.... I have put 16K moiles on my 06 in the last year. I went down on the bike last week and when i report it to the insurance I dont want to report 28K on my bike, they wont give me top $$$ for it. Im trying to get as much as I can. Anyone know how to knock about 10K off an odometer?:banghead:

He didn't push it backwards.

Obviously the first step is to upgrade the bike so it has a reverse gear. You'll need to modify the transmission a bit though. Not for the squeamish.

......i understand you are seeking top dollar, but you DID put the miles on your bike...right? kinda like asking for something you don't deserve......its the way it is with a daily driver......goes down in value the more you use it......sorry bro, kinda on the same side of the fence as these other guys.

Buy the 220 gauge kit most come with your choice of new mileage programmed onto them. But honestly your better off just leaving it alone as 28k miles for a 06 is not bad, thats a 6 year old bike with under 5 thousand miles a year put on the motor. Really thats no concern what so ever for mileage, an Insurance companies not even going to look at your odometer to value the bike.

sorry most of us are smartelicks.

^^^^^^he's right though. 28k is not bad and the insurance most likely doesn't even care.

Not worth trying....like others have said, they don’t care about the miles. They are going to look at the year and how much the repair cost is. The only thing you can do to help increase the value is gather receipts from upgrades you have done in the past year or so. Some policies will reimburse for them and some dont...just call and find out.
