i was just at the legal drinking age...dame im old....
In 91 my unit was mobilized to Germany for NATO annual exercise REFORGER. Fielding the MSE mobile secure equipment ( known as cell phones today) for the first major exercise.
We won't even talk about these then..
so about 2 months ago I had a land phone put in my house. I was pretty excited because I have never had one. Is that sad?

Me too. Cost too much to talk on but it was cool having it in the truck.
