Curious as to what made you decide on a Busa,

After reading the thread titled ( Ashamed of myself ) it got me to thinking, Why a Busa.

My story, Im 43, Probably a mid life crisis, Who knows. I had bikes most of my childhood and young adult life. I hadnt owned a bike in 10 yrs, So when I decided I wanted another one I started looking at the 600s, Knowing the person I am I knew it wouldnt be long before I wished I had gotten something bigger and faster, 750, same story, CBR954 almost, But same story, Looked at a couple 1000s and as I turned around there she was. I knew of the reputation, Heard the stories, and said to myself, Well its not like I will ever want anything faster, There were two Busa,s side by side. 05 Silver and Blue and an 07 Burgandy. 05 Had been laid down. 07 was perfect So I went with the faster of the two. ( You knew I had to go there )

I have to say ( Misty ) has lived up to her reputation and then some. I ride in a safe manner the majority of the time, But I will say this, If challenged my ego gets the better of me.

So the answer to the question for me. WHY A BUSA . . Speed / Power / Beauty & The ability to stomp some a*s when I want to.

So tell me WHY A BUSA

:rofl::rofl: Is there anything else??:whistle:

Kind of where Im going with this, Yes there are others. A whole lot of others. Why did you get the Busa rather than a CBR954 or 600 or 750. Another thing I didnt mention before, When I sat on the Busa it was so much more comfortable.

I dreamt about the busa since the day I first saw it. I like the fact that it is the fastest production bike in the world. The power is there if I ever need it, no matter how much power i actually need. It can spank almost anything on the road. You can cruise along at slow speeds, and it is plenty comfortable to do so, but for any reason whatsoever, if you ever need to tap into some power, all the power you will ever need is right there! I also love the looks of this thing. It seems it is either love or hate with the busas looks. I absolutely fell in love with it from day 1, and I didnt even know it was so fast. It is such a radical and unique look for a bike, and I think it is damned beautiful.

i liked how it felt. i am 6'-2" and the bike "fit" better than most i had ridden. i liked the styling, etc. if it had been a 500 i would have still got it.

it's an enjoyable bike to ride virtually every time i ride. i didn't have that with other bikes in the past. as far as wanting it because it was "the fastest production bike", well i grew up in a race shop and know that any idiot can go fast with enough money...

I first saw a video of a turbo busa in 2000 and knew that was the bike I wanted someday so in 2003 when I first could afford one I bought one and then in 2005, boosted it! Its a ride that nothing has compared to yet!:love:

So tell me WHY A BUSA

Because Honda has gone nutless, and abandoned the hyper-bike market altogether. Had they made a second-generation Blackbird, I would have been all over it.

But, nooooo..... they would rather make corporate jets and goofy-a$$ white robots instead. The last year the XX was imported to North America was 2003... the last year of world-wide production was 2007. Piss off, Honda! :disagree:

But to answer the question "Why the Busa?".... well, there really are only two viable options: the Busa or the ZX-13.5 (IMO, the BMW K1200S is just overpriced junk, so it wasn't a player to consider.) I looked - briefly - at the Kawasaki ZX-13.5..... shyeah, no thanks. And this was even before all the ZX-13.5 frame crack failures....

Could not be happier with this platform.... it is doing the Long Distance thang for me just fine....

i got my busa because,i started on a 600.that was my first bike in 12 years and it was nice but when i rode with my buddies they left me sitting alot of times.not that we ride wide open all the time but i got tired of being the one to play catch up.so then i got an 04 gsxr 1000 plenty fast ,handled good, but then i just decided hey i'm going to try a Busa now....and well i really like it alot.but honestly sometimes i wish i still had my 1000

I have had lots of bikes. I love Suzuki the best, hands down. Won’t own anything else.
My Sport Bike history is:
1. 1980 GS 1000S with 88 hp. It went about 120 mph (if you dared.) I was 28.
2. 1994 Katana 1100 with 136 hp and went about 160 mph. I was 42
3. 2006 Busa LE. This one will do over 200mph with my mods. I was 54.
As I got older, and more experienced, the bikes had to improve to keep up with me  (LOL) and every 12 years or so I have to take a plunge. Can't wait to see what is out there in ten years! Might have to buy one.
I figured if I don’t get on one of these now, I won’t ever do it, so I did.
I have included pics for any of you youngsters that don’t know the bikes I am talking about.

I just wanted the infamous "busa". Love the looks, styling, and most of all the power. I was fortunate enough that they made it one year black & red, those are my colors. :D

I was attracted mostly by the looks sleek. Sat on it was very comfortable for a supposed sport bike. The other gixxers weren't as comfortable. I am very short at 5'2",was told it would be very easy to lower for someone my size. Never even took for a test ride figured 1300 should be enough... never expected it to run like it does.

Why a BUSA? The street credibility… It’s instant… It doesn’t matter who it is… Blind, cripple or crazy. They all know the BUSA. It just makes people want to stop and stare! There is nothing like it on the street. The mods are endless. You would be hard pressed to find 2 that are alike. The BUSA can be molded to your personality and riding style. Riding a BUSA puts you on an island, the cruisers hate you and the sport bike riders can’t stand you. It’s BUSA LOVE. KING OF THE STREETS AND TRACKS...

I, like many others here, went looking at a GSXR1000 and since a Busa was parked next to the liter on the showroom floor I had a sit on it too. It was like a couch and I got to thinking, 6'2" and 50 yrs old I am, Ben Spies I ain't. To make a long story short, I went with the comfort. Busa has all the power I want, DeVille ride, and still handles very well too. Been over a year now, no regrets.
I'd still like to have a full sport bike (Gixxer 600 is high on the list now) as a second bike, but there's no way I'd ever trade my Busa for one.
