Who Rode Today?

I think this maybe my last season with the Hayabusa..... I'll be 67 in September and as much as I love this bike, it really hurts me to ride much longer than a few hours......

That’s too bad. I’ve had to reduce the daily mileage when I’m on tour as I’ve aged. I usually stop every hour or hour+ no matter what anyway. What year is that beauty? I like your cans! I’m still running the stockers just powder coated.

I got in 141 miles today in a loop thru the Park. Lots of sand on the road and snowmelt but I didn’t slip once. Kinda coolish up high or in the shade but a nice ride anyway. Almost no traffic which is always a treat. Bright sunny day in the low 50s and supposed to storm rain/snow the next few days. How bout these rocks? We’ve all seen the watch for falling rocks signs. Imagine seeing one of the giants coming down the mountain. Imagine the sound it made when it landed and broke apart.

It's easy to love that BKIng.......
It’s far from perfect, certainly has areas that could have been better, but I’ve had it over 16 years, other bikes have come and some have gone, faster, more modern, more expensive, but it’s never really been replaced.

Like the Gen-3 Busa it’s really in a class of 1. There isn’t really an alternative.
(A big bore, inline-4 Japanese bike with sporty running gear)

It is to naked bikes, what my Busa is to Hypersports / Sports Tourers, a bike in a class of one. The ZX14R and H2 SX SE aren’t really a direct alternative to the current Busa, and I’ve never found a sporty Japanese’s big bore alternative to the B-King.

Ever though it’s 16+ years old I haven’t found an upgrade in the showrooms that offer what I’m looking for.

Had a great ride yesterday!
It was a warm sunny summer’s day here in Godzone NZ, and I went with 3 others to Kaikoura… a lovely seaside town with abundant marine animals, whales, dolphins, seals, lobsters etc etc.
It’s 220km from home and a huge variety of riding terrain.
One of my riding buddies has a mint 08 Busa… we had some fun!
Here’s some pics, was an awesome day but I was a bit sore after it was done lol

Hi. All I can say is WOW. wish I was there. It looks a lot like New England. But different too.

I got in 180.1 miles today on the Kawasaki that has a 4.5 gallon tank. I took on 4.687 gallons so I may call the county’s weights and measures people tomorrow to have them check that pump for accuracy. Bike wasn’t stuttering like I was out and I don’t think there is almost two tenths more room for fuel so I’ll see. Beautiful sunny day with a high of 61 but riding between the rain soaked countryside on either side of the road sure felt cooler than that. Supposed to rain off and on all next week like it has been.
