What will be the next evolution of your riding career?

I used to own a VStrom then one day a guy cam down my driveway and offered me what I had payed new for it.mIt was a great bik and I am sorry I sold it. Currently I have a Goldwing (this is My forever bike) a 05 turbo (I am considering parting with) and B King. Thinking of a 2012 BMWs100rr or the 2012 ZX14

There's a huge difference between the BMW and the 14. Definitely try to ride both of them before you make a decision.

This one was a missed opportunity for me. I think the dealer only had it on the floor for a day or two, and it was super cheap. Less than $5000 I think.

I saw it downtown the next weekend and got a pic...

Just got back from looking at an '11 ZX10R. Also looked at a ZX6R and a Gixer750, less than an inch difference in wheelbase between them, but a HUGE difference in the cockpit sizes between the 10R and the other 2 bikes. 10R isn't nearly as stretched out as a Gen2 Busa of course(they had one in the line too), but it is way more roomy than either of the 600 size bikes. Only thing that may take some getting used to size wise is the peg height, very noticeably higher pegs than on my Gen 1. Really liking the 10R though. Will run it past my insurance agent next week, then go from there.

A 10R would be a great choice. Light, great handler, incredibly fast....and plenty of soft luggage choices too. Re: peg height, don't forget there are 3 or 4 high end companies out there that make VERY adjustable rear sets....don't forget, they are called rearsets but on a bike like a 10R (that already has oem "rearsets")you would just increase the adjustability factor. For example, I have Sato rearsets on my Busa and they really adjust in all directions for comfort(including if you ever do a trackday you can really put them up and back). Doyle

I have been looking at the Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere, i wasn't a fan of these to begin with but its starting to grow on me a bit..

I'm just not sure of the versatility of a 1200 in the dirt, especially in the really tight/ slow places.
Would love to ride one for a day and have a play:laugh:

Keep the Busa. Some trackdays and LSR hopefully in the spring.
A good stunt bike that I can really beat on.
And an LT 500 Quadzilla...I've been waiting over 20 years for one, so it'll be my next toy.
I have a friend with a 410+cc Banshee who needs his feelings hurt anyway:laugh:

I retire in January 2012 after 28 years on the job.... I have both the Busa and the B King... I want to put on the miles next summer and take a few trips... That will be my next evolution of riding... Enjoy my life, the company of my wife, family and good friends..... Having a tumor the size of a small lemon removed from under my left eye going back to my ear removed from inside my head last year got me thinking.... Its time to take some time to live...

Just the 800. - I want an economical, reliable commuter. My Busa is not such a bike...
Both of the VFRs are nice bikes, but I've heard a lot of complaints about the V-TEC on the small one. Not that it breaks, just people don't like the way it makes the engine feel. You might want to check into that if you're not already familiar with it. Very nice bike if that doesn't bother you.

As far as reliability, the Busa is the most trustworthy bike I've dealt with. If my car wasn't so much cheaper on tires and gas combined, I'd definitely be commuting on the bike. Have you had problems with your Busa?

Nice!

I sure do like that multistrada 1200 if i trusted it mechanically i would own it

I talked with a tech at the local BMW/Ducati shop about the Multistrada. He said they're a blast to ride, but not worth the cost of upkeep. I guess even with the new extended maintenance interval on that engine, they're still pretty expensive to keep on the road. Other than that, it's definitely an awesome machine. I was ready to buy one last year before I got my second Busa. If they had shown up in April like they were supposed to, I would be riding a white touring model. Oh well... I just didn't want to wait and landed back on a Busa.

Wow, I guess so! Enjoy this world while you're here. None of us are getting out alive.

Sweet!

I know there were complaints about the way it transitioned from 2 to 4 valve mode and back (people said it "paused" between modes) but Honda changed the way the system worked from 2006 onward.

This dyno graph clearly shows where the V-TEC activates but that's not really any different from the powerband of a lot of sport bikes.

Hmm, okay. I certainly don't claim to be an expert of them, but I was thinking TwoBrothersBusa had that same issue on his 2008 VFR. Don't know for sure though... Where are ya, Charlie?

i plan on keeping my busa for a long time. but i might be getting old because those harley street glides are starting to look pretty good. there will probably be one in the garage when the busa gets paid off.
