What kind of gas do you use?

Where's that article or info at? I've been running 89 and ill stick to it on the gen 2, gen 1 gets 87.

two issues are knock (related to octane/load) but more importantly fuel additives.
Most top level gas have more additives to keep fuel system cleaner.

Great question, I know certain brands use more additives such as Chevron w/ their patented Techron, thus claiming better cleaning/build up prevention. Maybe it's to make us feel better about paying more for their brand.

I dont know why but Shell for example only puts the top additives in the 91 Octane, perhaps it is to justify the ridiculous price over the low grade.

I do know if you run turbos , Shell gas makes the most power for street gas.

According to a guy who recently retired from a long career with Exxon,he said the added "additives" the top name brands supposedly add amounts to about 1qt. per 5,000 gallons(or 1 part per 20,000 parts),more of a profitable snake oil pitch than anything else.

Due to the media brain washing fuel octane ignorant people in to believing higher octane is better it actually burns dirtier in lower compression engines (-11:1.1)

I can tell you that Techron is the real deal, and both Chevron and Texaco put it in all 3 levels of their gasoline.
It's seriously a great fuel system cleaner.

Techron is a very effective solvent made to mix with gasoline. Seafoam has a lot of mineral oil in it and as such can perform some clean up but not near the level of the techron. Pouring oil into an intake in any fashion is not helpng your engine. It is not made to have oil put into the fuel intake system. Shell and Chevron along with Mobil put extra cleaners into their premium gasoline. Shell is a Top Tier gasoline with 5 times the cleaner that they put into the regular gas. You can drive your engine clean if you want to. The stuff really works. If you have any of these stations near you, you should use the premium and take advantage of the cleaners in the gasoline. The bikes will run very good after they are cleaned up. Good luck and ride it like you stole it!

Octane is octane, being pure gas and not a up to 10% ethanol version makes no difference. Where ethanol hurts is the moisture or water vapor it creates.

Well who could forget the stickers they put on the gas tank that take an electric belt sander to remove! If you bought your bike new like I did it says on the sticker as well in the manual to use 90 octane or higher. The octane rating is basically referring to the speed at which the fuel is burned through the engine. Any sport bike with high compression that revs as high as they do will need the premium gas. I guess if you never take your engine above 5000 RPM's it may not matter as much but really? Besides even at lower RPM's the engine could still nock and that ain't the best for your engine. The extra 20 cents per gallon really isn't worth the risk.

GENII 92 - 93 Octane with 1oz of sea foam on a regular bases to help with the (ethanol.)

It seems a lot of people out the use SeaFoam..... I put sea foam in my car once and if fouled the spark plugs and the spark plug wires.... my car also was mis-firing and lost a ton of power and gas milage, my car couldn't even climb a hill after putting SeaFoam thru the brake booster hose as recommended in the instructions..I knew the Seafoam messed something up but could not figure out what it was...I drove around for a month with a messed up car, finally i changed the plugs and wires and it drove normal again... I will never use SeaFoam again...

If you google and read some of the reviews on SeaFoam you will know what i'm talking about..
