Those mount using the fairing bolt. The bolt won't be strong enough to hold up in a drop or low-side. Do yourself a favor and get something that mounts to the motor mount bolts. They are much stronger.

That would probably act like a damage multiplier due to where it mounts.I think it would make things worse than if you had nothing there at all...

Is nothing but an appearance mod. Function is about nil.

As far as looking stupid. Anyone who knows about their lack of function will prob consider them "Stupid". One fall(tip over) and it's most likely going to crack the fairing where it is mounted. I have spike bolts in those holes on mine. As well as the rest of the fairing.

Afraid to cut your fairing, then buy some no cut ones.

of the two, option #2 is going to give more protection...IMO. Personally I have eyeballing the T-Rex brand , but I still havent decided on what I want for myself

If I ever did do a slider...they would be my choice.

I've had them on my bike for about 4 years now and they are only good for a drop in the driveway or if someone knocks your bike over .

I've got the full set of "R&G" race protection on mine. Web link - Welcome to R&G Racing | Setting the standard in bolt-on motorcycle accessories and Crash Protectors

The set includes (massive) crash bobbins that go through the side panels into the frame, front spindle/fork bobbins, rear wheel bobbins and tri-oval exhaust protector. Costs around £160GBP all in, but worth their weight in gold.... Of course - if you fall off at anything over about 30-40mph, no amount of protection will really help you... but under that speed the R&G stuff is proven to be really good.

Only reason I have those is if I drop in the driveway .If you drop it on the road while riding NO matter What you have you will have to call your insurance so why bother with anything else .

I just want to protect it if I drop in the driveway, I know that if it happens on the road then nothing can save it. Still, I want something that looks nice :-)
