Lol about all this! Okay kids, after speaking with another .org mate, which is why I posted this up here, it's starting to sound eerily familiar to a situation he went through. But the whole "scam" part of it doesn't make any sense. He said a girl had sent him two Money Orders in advance. When he went to deposit at the bank they said they were counterfeit. The girl hadn't moved in yet (never was going to obviously) so what's the scam part. He and I were thinking they would throw some sob story at you in the hopes of asking you to front money for them before you deposited the Money Orders???

As if I would ever put a penny towards anything without first having met this person and had a confirmed deposit in my account. I told her just to use PayPal so I can take the deposit in advance.

We shall see but likely a scam.

I have a rental home and leased it to a couple from Australia in February. Believe me I did my homework considering all the scams out there. Australia protects your privacy immensely so ordinary background checks were hard to do. They did own property and it definitely cost me $ to get the information. I also asked and received employer info and copies of licenses and visas. I also did a background on previous employers and personal references. It has worked out well. So not all offers should be considered scams that come from other countries. Just be careful!
