Used, mounted tire on Busa"¦9.25 inches.

Does the wear/mounting stretch it out a little? Or is the new tire not going to be as wide?

If I can compare a car tire to a cycle tire, it will be wider on the rim because the beads are not set on the wheel when not mounted, thus making the tire narrower. I think that made sense........

You're both right. Once you put air in it, it will fill out. The tire, untill mounted and air supplied, will be narrower than the rim, and therefore also narrower than the mounted tire. Once the bead is fully seated on the rim the two tires will measure the same. (mounted vs. mounted)
