Koeppel was westbound on Burlington Street on his motorcycle at about 7:30 a.m. Monday. When he crossed Gilbert Street, a pickup truck turned in front of him. The impact threw the senior offensive lineman from his motorcycle.

Iowa City police on Wednesday released an official portion of the accident captured by an officer’s dashboard camera. The officer was stopped at a traffic light when the accident happened in front of him.

WOW ! no helmet , shoe flies like a bird !
That's one person who never missed a Sunday service and did not ride faster than his guardian angel could fly !
I bet if you looked up 100 similar accidents not many would end like that .
Very lucky he is !
And yes it's sad the whole news story talks about leaking the video instead of charging driver of truck who you can clearly see did not see him at all !
