I know lots of guys that have busas and they don't have any problems......I have not had a problem on mine and i ride it pretty hard at times. You should drop it off at the dealership. do you still have warranty coverage? If problems still persist then you could quite possibly use the Lemon Law. Sorry to hear your having problems with your bike.. I own the same one.

I have been having the same prob with my 02. They stealler (ECC) says they can never duplicate the grip when I bring it in.

Shifter: easy fix, 10mm bolt head.
Headlamp adj: easy fix, the tray above the front fender comes out after you remove 6 plastic holders(pop the center in alittle and the clip comes out), then there's 2 bolts on the back of the headlamp assy that will adjust the beam up&down and left&right.

The not reving past 8k would need the bike looked at. It might be something simple, it might not. Either way your bike should have some kind of warranty.

Headlight and shifter, easy fixes, not really "problems". Limiting revs to 8k, now that's a problem. Take it to the dealer if its under warranty or tuner if not.

If all else fails buy another problem free Kawasaki.

it comes with a 1 year warranty.

first two problems are normal (happens alot)

the stutter is odd. never heard that one before. you may have bad fuel or something like that. I would take it to the stealership to get that looked at.
if they can't duplicate the problem, see if they'll pay to have it put on a dyno.

Gmbusa, the bolt that came loose on my shifter wasn't the 10 mm, it was the 17 mm at the back of the shifter. Had to remove the snap ring to take the shifter to tighten it good. Then covered with lock tite.

First...For the shifter, you're talking about piece number 32, right? Loctite should keep it from coming loose again.

Second...You stated that most of the posts on here are about problems with the Busa. I honestly don't think that is the case. Maybe you should try looking in ALL of the forums before you make that statement.

I'm glad to hear your ZX-11 was trouble free, but then again you only averaged 1600 miles per year.

I would definitely take the Busa in to get the RPM issue checked out while it is still under warranty.

Good Luck

Are you sure you're reading ALL the forums or just the ones about maintenance? Naturally those will have questions about fixing/adjusting things. Also, some of the breakdowns mentioned are due to very hard riding and/or crashes (I don't think you'll blow an engine if you ride carefully for example) and they represent a minority of the 'Busa owners out there (do you know how many members there are on this board?)

Not sure what your 8K misfire issue is about, but the other stuff seems pretty minor. If you'd spent some time on this board reading posts as you stated, you should already have been aware of the shifter problem and addressed it with some loctite as soon as you got the bike. That's one of the many advantages of being a member here, that kind of information is shared for the express purpose of giving everyone a heads up on potential issues that can save them money or inconvenience.

Would only say that the stuttering is a problem and it sounds like that is getting taken care of. Doubt if you will be disappointed with your Busa, but let us know because you would be one of the first!

DO NOT let teh dealer tell you the warranty is void because you did not pay them to do the first service. Show them the receipt for the oil and show them the check marks next to the step by step checklist printed in your manual. If they give you static tell them you will be calling Suzuki America headquarters in Brea, Ca. and verifying that what they are telling you is the whole truth. That last statement should shut them up and get them working to resolve your issue.
