Triumph output shaft on busa

Has anyone heard of a triumph output shaft on a busa? I had my 2002 in a shop last fall for new chain and sprockets and they found I had a larger output shaft. Turned out it was from a newer triumph model. Anybody heard of this. I'm sure the bike was raced a bit, but thought this was a strange mod.

I doubt it is a Triumph shaft but it might use a Triumph sprocket. Some of the harder running bikes (and car transplants) have had problems with the stock shaft. APE is one of the companies that make a custom larger output shaft for it.

I think you might be right about the sprocket being triumph and the output shaft just being a larger high strength item. I keep finding little changes here and there as I do maintenance. Thought that was a strange one. Thanks

It may seem odd to you, but it's a great mod. Chances are you have a worked (undercut) trans also.
