$ isn't the question or problem nor do I see that big of a diff in prices no matter the tread or compound .
Sure i don't want to ride rocks around just to get thousands of miles but if you've ever been this far south in Florida you'd know handling is about 10% of the concern .
Flat Flat and more Flat she is .

If I live down there, I would stick with the Storms. Over 57K miles of experience on them and never let me down. Rain or shine...even in 12*F....the coldest I've ever ridden.

Just my 2cents.

Theres guys with cheap shinko 007s dragging a knee. I dont think any tire is truely a bad tire. I think esp in florida anything other than a shinko 007 or a pirelli angel st is just a waste of $$ unless you drag, race, or just run the bike really hard. I lived there and ran pirellis hard compound tire the whole time. Still run a hard compound tire in NC

I am going to install the new Storm Ultra 2s this weekend. Taking off the HPXs. I will post later on the mileage for the HPXs. I put on the the 130 in the front. The first Manufactor that i know of for that.

Blanca, by all means the answer to your woahs is found in the Shinko Raven 009! They are so CHEAP you could replace them once a month before they had time to develop a flat spot! There is no confidence inspiring tire test informantion available from the Korean manufacturer or any other reputable source. At least not until recently, check "American Made Superbike Tire".

It appears we have more than one tire expert right here among us who have tested these increadible tires extensively. One on Florida roads and the other on the twisty backroads of Texas! Both have given comparable results comparing them to the best tires available to date!

The Texas Tire Tester is in the process of testing cheap Chinese knockoff brake rotors and pads! I am anxously awaiting his unbiased test results which should be available soon!

Ok most all threads regarding tires dwell on how well they handle but I would like to know what tire most would recommend for long miles .
I don't really care about the handling aspect as much as I do the longevity factor . What tire would last long and not develop a flat spot down center so fast ?

Tires bought in TN or NC never get them flat spot you talk of ...

The Angels outlast the Storms for you? The Storms are the thickest tire rubber wise I've ever seen. Some thick mutha's  I love the fact they stick awesome wet or dry (very confidence inspiring) and last forever
