Just rebuilt my front brakes. New, used rotor in one side, HH pads all around. Firm but not hard lever. Stops well. But it makes ticking sounds every 2 seconds or so at 40MPH.
I've heard that it's something normal the brakes do, not really sure why but someone's bound to shed some light on the issue... by the way, are you rolling with us on the Central Cali Run?
I'm glad you said that. I don't want to mess with bad brakes. It's funny. I see people saying their HH pad equipped bikes can stop on a dime. They say the back brakes are almost too touchy. Not mine. My fronts are good but not super great and the rears I have to firmly push down on to get any braking action. Front and back are air-free and firm when used. You think bedding them hard a few times would fix this?
I'd go on the ride if I could stop when I wanted to!
